ABOUT US
Stellenbosch Model Aircraft Academy is a community of model aircraft enthusiasts.
At Stellenbosch Model Aircraft Academy, we are passionate about model aircraft and dedicated to promoting the hobby. We provide a safe and friendly environment for pilots to fly their model aircraft and connect with other enthusiasts.
Our facilities are available for use by paid up RCASA and SAMAA members with at least a SOLO proficiency, or who fly under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
To secure the future of the SMAA, we had to lower the maximum noise emitted by glow/gas engine planes to 86 dBA over a hard surface from a 7 meter distance. Please have a look at our Downloads page for guidelines. Please only fly planes that fall within this requirement at SMAA. With a little bit of effort and low cost, we can make sure our planes fall within this specs when flying at SMAA, or any other location.
Reasonably accurate Decibel Meter apps can be downloaded from all the major app stores.

DIRECTIONS
We are located in the beautiful Wild Clover Farm.
Wild Clover offers excellent facilities for the whole family including grass lawns, a restaurant, country pub, brewery, winery and roastery with stunning views, great hospitality and delicious meals.
Activities include archery, clay pigeon shooting, fly fishing, wild life, a kids zone, and of course, RC flying.
Cottages offer superb self-catering accommodation for two people (children can be accommodated on request). Currently they have 6 cottages available and 2 additional cottages will be available shortly.
